Horserail

Contour Fencing is an approved fencing contractor for Horserail®. This specialist post and rail style fence has been developed over the last 20 years to offer the highest standards of form, function, durability and most importantly safety. It is an extremely versatile product that can be tailored to suit a variety of applications such as paddocks, lunging rings, gallops, arenas and horsewalkers.

Horserail is manufactured from a flexible polyethylene that is moleculary bonded to high tensile steel fencing wire. The rail and its accompanying hardware contain no sharp edges that could potentially injure a horse. Should a horse become briefly trapped in the fence, the rail is flexible enough to allow the horse to escape without injury but also rigid enough to prevent the rail from wrapping around one of the horse’s legs.

With a limited manufacturers warrantee of 30 years, Horserail is highly durable and once correctly installed it requires very little maintenance. Unlike traditional rail, Horserail won’t fade, warp or become brittle in extreme weather conditions. This is due to Horserail’s innovative manufacturing processes and the use of the highest quality materials. The rail will keep its appearance over time and will never need to be painted. In addition, the hardware is powder coated and galvanised to ensure little or no corrosion will take place.

Electrifying your Horserail enclosure can significantly reduce the habit of cribbing or biting the fence. Horserail contains a conductive carbon plastic compound that allows the rail to be fully electrified. The rail is very low in resistance making it possible for the current to be carried over long distances. You can also use Hotcote® wire in conjunction with Horserail. Hotcote high tensile galvanised fencing wire comes with a 20-year guarantee. The wire is coated in a carbon compound which can deliver an electric shock.
